Define Denim...

Denim doesn't have to be a trend to be popular- it sits perfectly during any season. No-one can make do without a trusty denim something, whether it's actually an item of clothing or a bag- an injection of denim is a must!

Ripped denim has recently burst back onto the scene with the likes of Megan Fox, Kim Kardashian and lots of other major celebs rockin' the teared jeans. The thing I love about this trend is that you can sex it up in so many different ways. Usually it'll be giving off a casual vibe where you'll team your jeans with a checked or white shirt, or maybe a vest top and a tough leather jacket for instant edge but team any of those ensembles with a hot pair of heels and you're good to go!

Celebs have recently been spotted wearing jeans from ripped to torn to downright shredded (right down to visible bum cheeks!!) so what's the next step for denim? Patched jeans obviously! Patchwork isn't for everyone but I think the odd patch here and there doesn't hurt, plus it adds a bit of definition to your denim.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to denim and it certainly isn't a fabric that's going to get old any time soon. I don't think I can say the same for leather or faux fur, they tend to show an appearance, go into hibernation, then sneak back out after a while but I think it's safe to say that denim will always be around to stay.

So, as always, here are my picks of top denim buys categorised by some of my favourite stores- definitely a staple piece!

So whether you opt for a tapered-below-the-knee look, rolled hems or classic denim jackets with fur lining, make sure you do invest in a great denim piece this season- whether it's originally tailored with lots of accessories added or dotted with rips or tears that do the talking, denim definitely screams edgy and casual/rock chic!

There are so many different denim styles around at the moment in a variety of shades, such as dark denim or dirty denim, so there'll always be something to suit your sense of style and personality. I also love that you can have a lot of fun with denim and get away with it: add embellishment, studs, rips, patches, fur- you can't go wrong! Here's me in my favourite Vero Moda jeggings:

"After a while, you just want to be with the one that makes you laugh."

Look out for my 'arm candy' post next girls :)
