Friends: One Soul, Two Bodies -♥-

So I'm sat here thanking my lucky stars for my circle of friends- it may only be a small circle, but it's a special circle and I wouldn't trade places with anyone ♥ So who are these special somebodies then? Let me introduce you :) (in no particular order!)

First up is Miss Chloe Mushrow
-

I've known this girl since I first moved to England when I was 7- she was one of the first friends I made when I started school here and she likes to remind me that I turned up wearing a 'white angelic dress' haha I don't remember that, I just remember being surrounded by everyone as though I was an alien and not understanding a word they were saying! Aah good times :) This girl's like a sister to me, even my Mum considers her her third daughter!

Miss Jessica Li
-

This girl's Jet Li's niece you know?? :P We started hanging out at high school and I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have her in my life to bitch with haha She attracts a hell of a lot of weirdos!! Most of which are old, bald, paedo-looking freaks! An interesting fact about this girl is that she'd never had a birthday cake before until I made her one in Summer 2009! :O Want a peak?
-

Mr Simon Jones
-

I met Simon Jones through one of my flatmates in my first year of uni and I feel very blessed to have him in my life. He's the one I turn to when I'm having boy troubles and I know that I could just text or ring him one day asking to meet up with him soon and he will try his hardest to make that happen. He introduced me to the good ol' Wray & Nephew (for those of you who don't know what that is, it's a rum originating in Jamaica) which accompanies the catchphrase 'Humbleeeeeeee!' lol you'd have to meet him to understand it all! He's a Landaner (sorry) but has a lot of connections in Brummyland and you can find some of his footy-related coverage on Gunner Talk.

Mr Mitesh Patel
-

I've known this boy since primary school when our families started chatting and if I was to sum him up in one word, it would be 'joker'! haha he really is a cheeky monkey but that always manages to put a smile on my face. We didn't get off to a good start though, as much as he hates me reminding him of that! He used to bully me when I was younger :P But he's changed a lot since, definitely for the better, which just goes to show that even the most rebellious lads can be 'rescued' ha

Miss Hayleigh Roberts
-

This girl used to be in my law class at college and my first ever communication with her I believe was by e-mail: she'd sent me an e-mail the day I fell asleep in class- very embarrassing! haha she asked if I wanted to go to the cinemas with her and her friends and soon after that became a routine! We don't talk as much as we used to but I know that I'm welcome for a chat and a brew anytime. This girl helped me through a lot of issues I had at college and I do think I'd have turned out slightly different if it wasn't for her.

Miss Sarah Powell
-

This has to be one of the loveliest girls I have ever met! She definitely has to be my bestest friend from uni. She's the kind of girl that will never say no- she'd probably help you bury a body she's that nice! haha seriously though, I'm very thankful to have had her as a friend at uni, she was amazing company and really looked after me, bringing me treats and goodies all the time! She reminds me of my Mum :) My only wish is that she lived closer as opposed to Cardiff and Swansea :(

Mr Greg Byron
-

I actually met Greg through Hayleigh at college and it was just a co-incidence that we happened to be doing the same course at uni. We soon became lecture buddies and would try to sign up to the same seminars where possible. He's a great friend and I definitely couldn't have gone through the course the way I did without him! Though I'm sure he could say the same thing ;P haha I do miss seeing his mug everyday!

I'd also like to give a special mention to:

Mr Njabulo Skhosana (a.k.a. Ninja ;) who's really helped me to see things in a positive light- he's one of the main reasons why I actually believe in the future and for that I'm very thankful!

Mr Brendan Riley who's been a Godsend, helping me with my legal applications and restructuring my CV and cover letter- I really can't thank him enough for that!

The guys and girls at work, in particular Miss Jennifer Nicholls (a.k.a. SarkiNiks) for her (very appreciated!) sense of sarcasm which gets me through a shift with fits of giggles! haha aah, she definitely makes a shift bearable, even if it does get me in a bit of trouble with the boss!

Along with my family who I love millions and more, there are other people in my life whose existence I'm thankful for but these are the guys that have really had an impact in my life and have helped shape me in some way. I consider myself very blessed to have known them

Who are your best friends and why??

When we first talked to each other
I knew we would be friends
Our friendship has kept on growing
And I'll be here for you to the end

You listen when I have a problem
And help dry the tears from my face
You take away my sorrow
And put happiness in its place

We can't forget the fun we've had
Laughing 'til our faces turn blue
Talking of things only we find funny
People think we're insane- if only they knew!

I guess this is my way of saying thanks
For catching me when I fall
Thanks again for being such a good friend
And being here with me through it all

Some of my guilty pleasures...

◘ Chocolates and take-out and practically every unhealthy food under the sun- but I'm sure that applies to a lot of you ;P

◘ Horoscopes- I don't know if I can class it as a guilty pleasure because deep down I don't really believe in them but I do secretly read horoscopes so there must be some sense of guilt in that if it's something I do in secret ;)

◘ Sometimes I purposely ignore a text if I actually cannot be bothered to text back- omm, not nice!

◘ J-Lo's music- is that a guilty pleasure? I'm not sure but I have a tiny feeling it might be!

◘ Sneaking into the stock room at work to have a wee chat with anyone that's there so as to kill some time- sshhh!

◘ Sometimes having 10 hours' sleep- how very lazy of me!

◘ Streaming movies online- although I'm sure you're guilty of this one yourself ;P

◘ Judging a book (or dvd, or even blog!) by its cover- I know how the saying goes but I can't help it sometimes :(

◘ Classical music- although I can't say I feel guilty about it, I just know it's not exactly perceived as cool! But I love it

◘ Street musicians- people might not acknowledge their music but it secretly brings a little brightness into my day!

◘ Collecting keyrings- I have quite a big bunch as a collection! I don't know why I love them so much but I just do. Especially when they're from foreign countries, I love little useless souvenirs like that!

◘ Crosswords- for the little geek in me! I used to get excited when my Mum would get me a whole book of crosswords *blushes*

◘ Cursing someone in French- in my head though of course! I don't know how or why but it actually helps me to vent my anger about something or someone!

◘ Popping bubble wrap- as annoying as the sound can be, admit it, you love it too!

◘ Katy Perry- I love her style, I love her pretty face and dare I say it- I love her music!

Dark chocolate- which makes it all the more better when I'm the only one in the family that enjoys it as it means I get to keep all the dark chocolate in an assortment box for myself ;P

◘ Goat's cheese- am I alone in this? I love the stuff, especially on pizza!

◘ Gilmore Girls- one of the best mother/daughter on-screen relationships in my opinion! And yes, I know all the words to the title song *hangs head in shame*

-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-

So there you have it, some of my 'guilty' pleasures! I'm sure there are more that I can't think of from the top of my head haha we all have them...but are you willing to share some of yours with me?? Go onnn, you know you want to! ;)

-

10 Things I...

...hate about you am loving right now!
-

╚► E.l.f. Cosmetics: In particular their shimmering facial whip along with their duo cream eye shadows and sparkly 'Twinkle' nail polish

╚► Cupcakes: See my previous post for some yummy pics to tease your tastebuds! I also recommend checking out Camp Cupcake for some beautiful treats- you can also find them on Facebook

╚► Paulo Coelho: You'll have noticed this if you've ever visited My Happy Place. His words really inspire me and I'm currently in the middle of reading 'The Alchemist' which has really helped me to see things, and indeed life, in a different light- who knew that when a person really desires something, the universe conspires to help that person achieve their dream?

╚► Angus & Julia Stone: A little while ago, I won their album 'Down the Way' and ever since I've been hooked on the beautiful musical journey that is Angus and Julia Stone. Not only are the musical notes of a sweet, soft ambience but the lyrics are wonderful and unique

╚►Knitwear: I've always been the kind of girl that chooses fashionable, casual comfort over tight-fitting ensembles that I'm not comfortable wearing so I'm definitely loving cosying up to knitwear this cold season. It keeps you warm and toasty while ticking a number of trends and can be worn with literally anything, be it jeans, leggings, skirts or shorts! I particular like the range you can find at MissguidedAsos and Republic

╚► The Apprentice: I will be very sad to see it end tomorrow!! :( First I had to give up Merlin and now The Apprentice- it's too much to handle in the space of two weeks! I love the things I learn from Lord Sugar, especially his witty metaphors and whatnot: "In the interest of climate change, I don't want to hear any more crap from you"- that man is a genius, with or without his entrepreneurial skills!

╚► Skype: Call me sad if you may but I think Skype is a Godsend! It means free calls between anyone who has a Skype sim card or Skype installed on their laptop or computer which essentially includes free international calls- I think that's pretty amazing! It means I can chat to family in India and France without that hefty long distanced phone bill, although it's just as good for chatting to friends in the country, as you can play games while being able to verbally speak to them at the same time- it's just that little bit better than msn in my opinion!

╚► Bonjour mon coussin: Offering beautiful, quirky designs, this site has a gorgeous range of pillow covers, tote bags and wallets, among other things which would make amazing, unique gifts. You might find the products a wee bit out of your price range but I know I would be really happy to receive something from there- the stuff is pretty, colourful and super girly

╚► Dark mulberry scented candles: We sell them at work (Next Home) and I absolutely love the smell of it! It's weird how different scents take you to someplace new and this candle definitely does, I don't know why! Everytime I'm at work, I just have to have a sniff so the smell lingers for a bit- I think it's high time I use my discount to get myself one for my bedroom! ;) I should probably also mention that I'm very much in love with selected fragrances that are exclusive to Next: namely 'Diamonds', 'Gold' and 'Cashmere'- the best bit? You can get 100ml for just £12!! Or £9 for me ;P love it

╚► Your feedback: Since I installed the Facebook like box below each post, I've had a lovely response from you friendly followers and it makes me smile even more to notice comments from you gorgeous girls, so please keep them coming! I appreciate every one of them

So what are you loving right now?? I'd love to hear about it! You might even introduce me to something I've never come across :)

Love Bakes ♥

-

So not so long ago I was lucky enough to win a dozen cupcakes from the lovely Love Bakes! Based in Bedfordshire, this company is ran by a very lovely lady called Joelle who experiments with the most unique flavours to add to her cupcake mix! Yesterday morning I received a sweet little (or not so little!) package filled with beautiful and far too delicious Love Bakes goodies to tentalise my tastebuds! Want a peak? Here's my yummy delights:
-

Mmm, cupcakes for breakfast- does it get any better than that?? I have to say, the cupcakes were just as delectable as they were pretty, if not moreso! I'm usually not one for icing but there was something magical about the ones that topped these bakes: soft, creamy & whippy but oh-so-light at the same time, these were definitely the icing on the cake! What's more, it tasted like an intense blend of spicy but sweet flavours- truly mouth-watering stuff!!

Teamed with the moist, soft, luscious sponge, the icing made for an amazing treat! Packed in my big pink box were six spicy mango flavour cupcakes and six chai (Indian tea) flavour cupcakes. The chai-flavoured cupcakes tasted a bit like carrot cake with a hint of subtle spice- so like normal carrot cake but with a twist and since carrot cake is one of my favourite cakes ever, this yummy treat really made my day ♥

The spicy mango-flavoured cupcakes were equally as flavourful. What I particularly loved about this cupcake was the fact that once you've worked your way to the bottom, you'd find some fruity mango jelly- how delightful!

Asides from the fact that the cupcakes were absolutely heavenly, scrumptious, rich in taste, and every other word that sums up delicious (and beyond!), Miss Joelle Eyeson definitely deserves credit for the effort she went in decorating these tasty treasures- I mean, how beautiful can a small cupcake get?! So much so that I almost didn't want to bite into any of them for fear of ruining the gorgeous designs ♥ As you can see, half a dozen were topped with lovely roses that were sprinkled with a dose of glitter- wow!

But bite I did and my my am I already craving some more! Before you say it or even think it- no I didn't finish a whole dozen cupcakes in a day ;P My Dad and brother had their share too! Though it has to be said that sharing these beauties wasn't easy hehe

If you're interested in sending a loved one a sweet package or if you're just after some delicious treats for yourself then do visit their Facebook page for details of how to order and to check out some of Joelle's work! Not only does she bake yummy cupcakes (how does pistachio and white chocolate topped with vanilla bean buttercream sound to you??), but she also creates beautiful cakes and cute cake pops! Here are a few pics to tease your tastebuds:
-
I spy with my little eyes something beginning with...G! GIANT CUPCAKE! :D
-
Cake pops!
-
Diwali and Eid cupcakes
-
Big birthday cake!
-
I spot Oreo cupcakes!! :D
-
Forget sending her flowers, send her a bouquet of cupcakes instead! ^_^
-
Fruity cupcake tower :)
-

Mouth watering yet? ;) Then go check out Love Bakes now for all sorts of yummy goodies! ♥
